a few more Ryders

Still haven't played any more Andromeda, but I do want to get to know my girl better.

And her fabulous sibling Castel.

They're good friends.

more voltron, surprise

Shocking, I know. But listen, I haven't fallen this hard for a ship since probably Jackanda, which is super saying something. I've been reading fic, even.

(Also Alex was sweet enough to watch the rest of Season 2 in preparation for marathoning Season 3 with me and Ari when we visited him in Guilford since I couldn't watch it at home because we didn't have internet yet... love that boy.)

Anyway here's some Shiros.

And some Keefs.

Had to draw him in the Blade of Marmora suit because come on, seriously.

Gay.
Also I love Pidge and Hunk and their science bros vibes.

"Nothing's gonna happen to you, Shiro. Stop talking like that."

Uhhh I have nothing to say for myself other than Shiro does legitimately have enormous pecs.

Listen, the evil clone was hot okay.

Liked this sketch enough to turn it into a painting (based on the song Illuminate by Yellowcard).

Why are they so Yellowcard. This one's MSK.

You can't tell me they didn't make out in the black lion at least once. (Cut Me, Mick.)

Oh whoops I'm sad. (Make Me So.)

Still holding out for an astral plane reunion. (Takedown.)

Some sad and angry Season 3 Keefs.

There's definitely some clone shit going on here. Can't wait for their Real reunion in Season 4.

I've started grad school now, so this pattern of not posting here for months at a time will likely continue. Such is the way of it. I like the classes so far though - much chiller than Olaf.

Starbound

Ari and Alex and I have been playing Starbound this summer as a way to hang out and keep in touch while exploring weird alien planets and fighting monsters and all that good stuff. We've built a very nice house together and filled it with essential equipment. I'm playing a Floran named Safua because the concept of flesh-eating plant people was too good to pass up.

Tried out a variety of mouth shapes on her and eventually settled on the mandibles.

Very tiny watercolor practice.

She had a Moment with Ari's plasma girl Sig tonight where they both stood on the roof of an old ruin and watched the sunrise together and Sig got naked somehow.

We've started Warcraft too, because we're all huge nerds, so there will be doubtless a post about that at some point too.

Guadalupe and Castel Ryder

Ari got me Mass Effect Andromeda for the PS4 as a graduation present and I just started playing it yesterday. I had started planning my Ryder siblings before the game was actually in my possession, and I had come up with this:

Guadalupe Ryder, the shorter buffer twin, and Castel, the genderfluid younger twin. Adventure in their blood and makeup on point.

I played around with a bunch of different looks for Lupe (knew I wanted her short and muscular with killer brows, and not much else), but settled on Castel pretty quick. Also there's Papi Alec at the bottom.

Thought I had her settled...

Then went into the actual character creator and this was the closest I could get.

Which, to be fair, wasn't bad.

There were no good light pinks for the hair, no way to make the brows thicker, no good fluffy bob, and no facial piercings, but I did get a few cool scars and a wicked tattoo out of the deal, so I'm happy overall. So there's my girl. She's gonna bang Vetra probably.

Shadowrun: the runners

I'm not sure how I managed to neglect this blog for so long, but however that happened, I've built up a huge backlog of stuff, so let's jump right in here.

Alex's first character Occam was a dwarf razorguy and former corp surgeon. More machine than dwarf, he he had a consuming addiction for new body mods and cyberware. I say 'had' because he bit it after like two sessions.

Also he had a motherfuckin samurai sword because Shadowrun is ridiculous and sometimes you gotta just take advantage of it.

Erika plays Flow, a human physical adept who always wears a full-body chameleon suit and opaque helmet, speaking to the team through either a speech-text-speech voice modulator or text messages via comlink. None of us have ever seen her face. Before she started working for Annie, she was a parkour/free-running dispenser of vigilante justice.

Evan was one of the last to make a character, and he agreed to make a Face since we didn't have one yet, so here's Rex the human Face. He used to work a fairly substantial corporate job before some shit went down in Germany and he had to go underground for awhile. He's used to living larger than most Shadowrunners have the budget for, drives a Bentley, and can talk his way in or out of anything.

Allana's character is Dagna, a human rigger who was born into an Aztechnology blood magic dynasty and ran away to get a rigging implant to get rid of her magic. She's better with machines and animals than people (and all of her drones look like animals), but she also wants to be Ember's vodka aunt.

Rix, Jake's dwarven shamanic mage, is fairly young but grumpy and cantankerous enough that everyone thought he was an old man at first. His mentor spirit is the Thunderbird, which forces him to make a roll to avoid insulting someone who insults him first.

Connor plays our other shamanic mage, Wispy, a young elf who used to run with a go-gang until he accidentally burned up most of the gang's vehicles and half of his face. Very charismatic and outgoing, his mentor spirit, by complete coincidence, is also the Thunderbird.

Despite their many similarities, Wispy and Rix have major disagreements about how spirits should be dealt with and treated. Annie's solution so far is to try not to send them on runs together.

I did this painting of Wispy on his motorcycle with a friendly water elemental for Connor for Christmas.

Alex's elf technomancer, Flechette, was born and raised in a secret Horizon lab, trained as a sniper and a devastatingly good hacker. She only just recently escaped and struck up an online friendship with Ember before Annie hired her to replace Occam (who died, more on that later).

Her Matrix persona is just herself, but with hedgehog spines instead of hair.

I have SO much more Shadowrun to post, oh my god, you have no idea. However, my final art project is due at the beginning of next week so that's what's heaping up on my plate right now.
