HAPPY REBIRTHDAY

It's Easter, you gaiz! I heart Easter. Have a crappy watercolor! It's Stewey from the IUW. 'Member him? The angry rabbit? Well, now he's even angrier. Might have something to do with me dyeing him blue and tying a pink ribbon on his head. Hey, I never claimed I knew how to watercolor. Hence that heinous mess of colors up there.

Also, since it's Easter, have this video.

Usually I am not a huge fan of Christian music as a genre, because many of the songs are very basic in structure, but basically I just like Adam Young's voice. It's, I dunno, clear. And hopeful. It has a simplicity that I find lacking in most modern pop stars. Not a ton of vibrato. I like that. Yay Owl City.

Now, CHURCH! *dashes off to make self presentable*

Happy Easter to those of you who celebrate it!

my awesome OYAN name card

I love this thing. It has the Tower of Inspiration, the Flying Lobster, the Amoeba of Doom, the Seal of Death, squeefaced Hattie, Stewey being angry, and Kip with her wingses and earses. All that's missing is the chibified Black Pirate of Doom, and maybe an SPNG or two. Hmm. Maybe I'll put Spenga on there later. Epic, no? Here's a closeup of the SoD:
And one of Stew, cuz he's awesome.
Stewey: For the bazillionth time... DON'T CALL ME STEW. It makes me sound like something to eat.
Kip: Well... in some parts of the world, to some people... you are. XD
Is it weird that my charries and I have conversations in my head?
Yeah, he's a little bit funky. Oh well. I stuck him in the Villains Only lounge on the OYAN forum so he could argue with me in public. He and Cerulio both. *shakes head*
Speaking of OYAN, it's going awesome. I love love love it. Everyone who wants to write a novel should take it. The only thing that bothers me is the forbiddenness of adverbs and the near-forbiddenness of adjectives. Then again, I was trying to write Chapter One for IEW, and it felt weird to be allowed to put in as many adverbs as I wanted. I kept going, "O hey, I could actually use an adverb there, whaddaya know?" whereas for OYAN I'm always like, "Adverb time!... wait, no..." So this will be interesting, writing my novel twice, in a different POV each time. When I was writing Chapter One in third, it was like talking about myself in the third person, because I'd only ever written Andra in first, and I always think about her in first, so it was as if I was saying, "Kipin got out of bed and put on her clothes and..." etc. Very strange. After writing in first all the time for three months, my third-person muscle is atrophying.

English doesn't borrow from other languages. It follows them into dark alleys, knocks them over and rummages in their pockets for loose grammar. XD

Captain Calamity

Hey, have you guys seen the good Captain yet? Guess not. XD I heart Captain Calamity. She's one of my IUW characters, and an awesome one at that. She is the captain of the pirate vessel Sordid Sea'orse, wears bright cool colors and shiny boots. Shiiiiny. And usually she has a hat, but since Kipin can't draw hats, she must have temporarily lost it. Also, my mother says she looks like a dude, cuz her neck is too thick. But she's wearing a corset, for the sake of Azar! So she's a girl, kay? Learn it. *wink*

Look at the nonsensical rigging. *sporfle* If you follow all the lines, they don't really connect anything. Lol. Mayhap I'll get some sailboat anatomy lessons from me padre, so next time I draw a ship, it'll make sense. Ah well. It looks cool, anyway. And yes, the Captain is kinda floating in space there, but if I drew deck under her boots, the rigging looked skewed. So she floats.

Colored pencil and graphite and hairspray, just like always. Nothing new there. Oh, and the Captain is mine. If you steal the Captain, I WILL EAT YOUR FACE. You have been warned.

Now for some little newsy bits. I'm not going out of town anymore this summer, so I should be here... consistently-ish. Pipe Organ Encounter was awesome. I got to crawl through the Temple organ at Community of Christ. There were all these little skinny ladders and catwalks and hundreds and hundreds of pipes. It. Was. Epic. So that was fun. Plus I got to meet a friend of Amzi's that I'd seen before at piano competitions but never really talked to. She proved to be a delightful young lady (yes, dahling, you know who you are) who writes and speaks in accents like I do. Yay! She let me draw her cool character and his giant eagle. Once Blogger decides to cooperate and load the blasted thing, I'll post them.

Commander Kip who's finally back!

The IUW: The End/Beginning

Good Day to you, my dear fellows and fellowesses! Yes, it's a word, for I declare it so!
We just finished the first epic chapter of the Chronicals of the Great and Wonderful IUW, and there was much awesome epicness all the way 'round, so since Titi isn't in there anymuir, I wanted you guys to see her before she retired. Go to the Picnic Club link and read everything in the IUW thread. Warning: EPICNESS ABOUNDS!!! BWAHAHAAA!!! Ahem. This is Wyrm and Wyvern, my didrake, or two-headed dragon. Ain't 'e preshus? Those are just his heads, not the rest of his body, the one on the left is Wyvern, and the other one, the one that looks like it's about to bite someone's head off, that one's Wyrm. He's the hothead of the two. The other things on the page are their legs, BTW. This guy is the Guardian of the Cave of Spontaneously Combustible Materials (or CoSCM, for short.) They can break the Rules and leave though... they have to hunt, after all. I mean, HE has to hunt. Blast it all! I always forget about the singular!

Hmm. Doesn't work too well not to have a layout. This pic here is Titaniara, my li'l Disney-ripoff fairy. Her ears are wonky. My favorite little coffeetarian. Catchphrase: 'COFFEEEEEEEEEE...'

And these are Lloyd Harvey the Troll (also known as LHtT) and Super Power Ninja Gerbil Alpha (also known as SPNGA, or Spenga.) LHtT is the Lair Guardian, which means he can't leave the Lair, and the SPNGs are Roving Guardians, which means they can go wherever but default to the Playground. L-O-Flippin'-L. They crack me up, the Ninja Gerbils do.
Okay, so now we've started Chapter Two, and already we have a problem. I think my character Flavius has fallen in love with Anne of Green Gables... and they're not even in the same story! Oops. Lol. And there's this massive tree called Elayssiabraumunorulagrum (otherwise known as Elayssia, or just Ely) that's sucking the life out of the South, which is now the Bleached Lands. Bwahahaa, phear her. So we have to get rid of her now. Somehow.

IUB maps

Hey, dudes! Kipin's back! Winter break is officially here! HUZZAH! *freaks out for a few minutes* So... here are a few more IUB maps.

The TFA Office

The Character Lounge

The Character Lair

Fun stuff, yah? I advise you not to try to decipher these. Go read the Picnic Club forums if you really want to understand. The one labeled IUW is the one you want, I believe.

Map the First... Of Many

Hear ye, hear ye! The First Cycle of the Most Esteemed Inter-Universal World is coming to a climactic close! All Hail the Supreme Excellency of the Picnic People! All the denizens of said IUW are converging on the ALMA, or Antagonistic Location of Mutual Attack, to witness the Duel of Tooth, Tail and Claw! The mountains and plains of the IUW have become vastly overpopulated, and it's up to Cairi's character Kirin to put all to rights! Our friend Spader is going to have to reverse direction if he wants to make it to the ALMA before the Duel commences! RUN SPADER RUN!

Hi guys. Kipin's back. That Narrator person is now lying in a tangled heap on Kipin's boring gray carpet. He was annoying her, so she turned him into a pretzel and tickled him senseless. Ha! Winnie's over here cracking up like crazy. I luvz her, hee, and she helped Kipin with the tickling, she did.

You might see a few IUW-related maps in the next week or so, until we get everybody cleared out. We have so many characters in there, they're like, packed in like sardines. So we've commenced Operation: Clean Slate, to be started as soon as Amzi's computer decides to let her in. This map is a bird's eye view of the northern portion of the Inter-Universal World, at least, it USED to look like this, until the ALMA got involved, and some other major geographical features got added. So, not entirely up-to-date. But I was so happy with my prettyful lopsided compass rose, I just had to post it anyway. Oops, it looks like I cut off the River Hoist when I took the pic with my camera. Doormat. But oh well, because we actually haven't sent anyone up there yet. Feel free to comment with questions involving geography or plotline, and I shall answer them as quickly and thoroughly as my krazee life allows.

We don't own a lot of of the characters and places in the IUW, for the record, but all origional locations and charries belong to their respective Picnic People. Titi is MINE. ALL MINE!

Commander Kip the So Happy Because She Finally Got Unstuck on Portals! Huzzah!
