purple hairs!

Yes, a few weeks ago, I temporarily dyed my hair purple.

I like it! And there's plenty of dye left in the bottle, so when I get back from spring break, I'm'a prolly do it again. We did the bottom layer of Anna's hair too.

The package said it was supposed to last three to six weeks, depending on how dark your hair is, but mine's only middling dark and it was largely faded inside of two weeks.

There's barely anything left of it now. Anna's is faring better; probably because she uses hippie shampoo. I should steal some, maybe.

My mom asked me whether I was going to go purple permanently, and I decided no, not at this stage in my life, because it might be hard to get hired for summer jobs if I look like a punk. Maybe if I ever become a published author who writes bestsellers in my basement. Then no one will care what color my hair is. And it will totally be purple. All the time.

Also, I'm home! Yaaay! And Lady Arin's spending the night tomorrow! And I saw Brenticus the other day, and we killed some zambies, and it was awesome. Also also, Anna lent me Tamora Pierce's Wild Magic to read over the break, and I basically plowed through it in one day. Avidly awaiting the next one. Never did get into the Tamora Pierce when I was younger. Pity. I was missing out.

winning at procrastination

Yes, I am supposed to be studying for the Great Con midterm tomorrow, but eh. Doodles first.

An elfy with an eyebrow piercing for no reason.

Thinking about Birthright stuff during my Renaissance history class - here's a Cittadialian noblewoman.

More Renaissance doodles.

Scribbled this one on the back of my DnD character sheet. No idea who she is.

A concept for a crimefighting character. Probably won't do anything with her; just playing with the concept of a group of ordinary people who decide to stand up to a supervillain after all the superheroes have been killed off or captured.

Sexy theory doodle. Check out those come-hither eyes. Because clearly, arpeggiations are Hot.

This is Serean, Ileana's father from my first campaign. He's very pretty, but we never get to meet him because she kills him before the start of the story. Hurray.

In other news, EHRMAHGEHRD, SHNEW! Also, there is now a layer of thin ice on the sledding hill. Matt and Anna and I went sledding the other day, and we all have fantastic bruises to show for it. If you go sledding and you don't come back bruised, you're not sledding hard enough.

Also, who did this. Wasn't me.

Now I should go clean up my clothes. When the weight of the pile starts tipping my chair over backwards, that's how I know it's time to put them away.

One more midterm, then spring break! Yaaaaaaay! I can't wait to go home and sleep for like eighteen hours and see Brenticus and Arin and hang out with the bro and not do stacks of homework!

and even more MSG funtimes

Because there are more characters you guys should meet.

Matt's character, Harkin Burik, and Anna's character, Professor Ceridwen Dorsal. Harkin is the second-in-command of one of the two most powerful mercenary organizations in Guaren. He's a nasty character and speaks mostly in swear words. Ceridwen is a badass sexy-librarian type who became a professor at an early age and is trying to avoid being locked away in the Asylum for delving too deep into the study of magic. She also makes bombs and other explody devices for the rebellion. And she and Marcus have a thing for each other.

Ceridwen always wears her hair in a messy bun because she's basically Anna if Anna were a pyro. The funny bit? Anna is almost exactly like her character, and Matt is nothing like his. I find this amusing. Also, all the characters of the real-life couples hate each other in canon (Suvoi and Harkin can't stand each other.)

As for the Mer characters, here's one I just threw in who you might remember from ages ago. Ashes, my mist elemental. Except she has antlers now, because why not. I gave her a cool backstory too; now she's a magically enhanced being known as a Fabrant, created by infusing an Ungifted child with huge quantities of magic that causes various mutations as well as increasing the subject's magical capacity.

Ashes, being the first successful Fabrant, was the model for a slew of similar experiments. However, she recently discovered that Fabrants' lifespans are drastically shorter than most Mer-beings' (a direct result of being blasted with crap-tons of magic at an early age.) She currently works for the Interarchanical Substitution program, which smuggles Ungifted Mer-babes into Guaren and vice versa with magically inclined Guaranian children. Fun stuff.

Which brings me to another old, repurposed character, Liriel Farsight. You may or may not remember her. She's way old. Older than Ashes. But she was a thing, I swear. (Woof, ancient drawing alert.)

Except now she's got a creepy backstory and a serious case of debilitating prophetic visions, hurray! (And I got better at drawing, thank God.)

Since Sylvan Faye live for ages, Liriel gets to make appearances in all three MSG storylines; as a frightened but very powerful child in the first, a wise seer in the second, and a tortured wreck in the last. I'm sorry, Liriel. I swear I actually love you. I kept the little detail where she becomes blinded by drinking from the poisoned river, because I thought that was a cool storything.

Poor Liriel can never leave the Silver Forest once she's entered it as a child, because the forest has a magical boundary that traps beings who possess magic. So she's gonna live there all her life. Here she is with Alex's character, Derwn Morthwyl, who is a giant evil tree. Yeah, you heard right. There was an epic showdown between the two of them in the first storyline wherein little Liriel started ripping smaller trees out of the ground with her mind and throwing them at Derwn as he was strangling one of Katia's characters with his roots. It was freaking spectacular. Anyway, we imagine that Liriel and Derwn have been striving against each other ever since.

And here's Katia's aformentioned character, but in the second storyline. Sadly, he was an adorable innocent shepherd boy named Mana, and he was born without magic so he could travel in and out of the Silver Forest at will. But then the Mages snagged him and turned him into a Fabrant - one of the earliest attempts, and one of the ugliest. Now he's a bitter, hulky monster, but Liriel still loves him cuz she's blind and she doesn't care if he's ugly.

Can you tell how much fun we're having with this thing? Suvoi and co are in the Grey now, and I suspect Ian's about to smack us in the face with a pile of zombiethings. Awesome.

more Suvoi

There she is, my lovely gypsy lady! Her head's a tad small, but whatever. Her first name, Suvoi, means "stream" in Romanian, and her last name, Emana, means "exhale."

A strange early attempt. Hadn't quite nailed down her features yet.

Another strange one, but improving all the while.

Just for fun. Dark eyes with gold flecks are actually the best ever. And I've always wanted a character who could wear lots and lots of kohl.

Oh, and what's this? Erik and Suvoi fluff? I got no end of crap from Matt for this one. And Katia just about had an aneurysm of happiness.

They remind me a little bit of Andros and Rivenwick, with their beating the crap out of each other followed by violent making out. It's pretty fantastic. And Erik keeps trying to give her friendly advice, except he doesn't know how to do friendly, so it keeps coming out as threats. *pats Erik* Oh, Suvoi, he's so awful. He's not good for you. Or anybody.

But he's so HOT.

Point still stands.

He's only awful because he never learned any different.

Well, why don't you find someone who has learned different?

Where's the fun in that?

I give up. You can have him. But do try and survive to the end of the storyline, won't you?

No promises. I've already spent the better part of two pages unconscious and/or bleeding profusely.

Because of Erik!

Not... directly?

*facepalm*

Magical Steampunk Gypsies!

This is the online roleplay I was telling you about, and it is frickin' fantastic.

http://magsteampunkgypsies.proboards.com/index.cgi

We had to switch servers, because the first one kept crashing, but we're happy here now and it's the best online rp evaaaaaah. This is how it works: there's two factions, magic and technology, and they abhor each other. The magic place is called Mer and the technology place is called Guaren, and there's a sort of deadlands in the middle called the Grey, where the MAGICAL STEAMPUNK GYPSIES live! They can use both magic and technology, but only weak/outdated versions of both. We were worried at first that everyone would want to be a gypsy, but as it turned out, I was the only one. Yay!

This is my primary character, Suvoi Emana. She is currently the only non-NPC magical steampunk gypsy, and she is also a sassy badass. And she has all the best weapons.

Yes, that's a bracer-mounted mini-crossbow with five revolving chambers. And a bone-handled stiletto. She also has a garotting wire in a spool disguised as a bangle around her left wrist, a retractable blade in the toe of her boot, and a hollow costume ring full of poison. Because she's a sneaky mysterious double agent lady and that is how she rolls.

And this is her janky wagon. The gypsies have these steam-powered house-wagons called copperwains, and Suvoi's is super janky. Like, every time someone comments on how janky it is, and she tries to defend it, a panel drops off. It's pretty bad. But she loves her wagon, so there.

There's Suvoi again with her bestest friend, Marcus Caelium-Nauftis. He's played by Ian and is also a badass. But an endearing badass. He's a piloteer, which is like a super classy mercenary with an airship. And he's always friend-zoning Suvoi because he's awkward like that.

And this is Marcus glaring at Katia's character Erik Laroque, who is honestly the worst person alive. He's a murderer, a rapist, a sexist, and a jerk, but also really hot. And he has a thing for Suvoi, which he demonstrates by beating the crap out of her. But only because she knifed him first. Lol. Here, Marcus and Erik are jealous of each other's toppers.

There are more great characters; you'll be seeing them once I draw them. Hooray!

This is seriously the best use of my time. Ever.

My boyfriend is fantastic.

Because he sent me this:

http://ashlei-11.tumblr.com/post/17026022830/season-1-episode-0-the-lost-episode

Yes, ladies/gents, that is every episode of Teen Titans ever made, free on the Internet. My life is complete. A few of us watched the first two episodes last night, and I spent the entire time flailing spastically and squeeing every time Raven opened her mouth. Because she's fantastic. Always.

*attackles boyfriend*

Anyway. Back to the homeworks.
