Merry Hannukwanzmas!

Hey dere, peeps! Sorry for vanishing during the hollydays; finals happened, then break. I fail at internetting. Anyways, Anabeth and Thaelen want to wish you a merry Christmas, if you celebrate that sort of thing. And even if you don't.

Do note that they're both wearing clothes. That's gotta be a first for them. Lol.

Break has been all right so far. There's been good stuff and bad stuff, but I'm gonna save all that for later. It's Christmas, and that's nice, so everything else can wait till later.

You're all fabulous. I don't think I say it enough, but you really are.

Also, guess what I'm going to my grandma's house to watch this evening? DOCTOR FREAKING WHO, that's what. Should be pretty great.

Off to chill with mah family. Later!

screamy face

Forgot about this one too! It's Thaelen, being his usual melodramatic self. What a surprise.

One more day of Christmas Fest! Then back to regularly scheduled life. My boyfriend was ushering last night, so he got to hear the concert, which was nice. My family's listening to the audio stream today. *kettlesquee* Christmas!!!

Dude, Friday night was marvelous. I was up until 3am geeking out and talking about superheroes with five other dudes in the basement lounge. I missed this. Yay.

And then last night was marvelous as well because I more or less finished Chapter 5 of Birthright! It's come to the point where the premeditated plot has dissolved entirely and I'm just letting the characters run the show. We'll see how that goes.

Off to read some Job. Later, peeps.

Oh, oh, and Anna made me the best Christmas present evar because she's awesome and she loves me. I CAN'T WAIT TO SHOW YOU GUYS. There will be pictures. Count on it.

a ridiculous amount of drawings

Decided to finally post the enormous backlog I've been procrastinating on. It's hard to remember what I've posted here or not, because sometimes I post stuff on DeviantART and not here, and vice versa, and then I get confused. So apologies in advance if there are repeats mixed in. Here's the pile in no particular order.

New sketch of Juniper from Black Ribbons. The Darklings are called Shadowkind now.

From the Odyssey. Telemachus comforting his mother.

Four from Divergent by Veronica Roth.

Murtagh from the Inheritance cycle. Gah, he was hot in the last book.

King Orrin and Nasuada from the same series, also last book. Spoilers for Nasuada's scars...

Thalia Grace from the first Heroes of Olympus book with her winter camo.

The Them from Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett.

Lara Croft from the Tomb Raider franchise.

Nico di Angelo from the Heroes of Olympus series as well. Hawter and hawter with age.

Karou from Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor.

Jem Carstairs from the Infernal Devices trilogy by Cassandra Claire.

Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase in their twenties, being adorable.

Vin from the Mistborn trilogy by Brandon Sanderson, infiltrating Kredik Shaw with a fistful of bloody coins. Because she's a ninja like that.

Jace Wayland from the Mortal Instruments series, being sexy.

Commissioned drawing of Ewin from Pippin's novel (flipped image.)

River Tam from the episode "Safe" of Joss Whedon's Firefly.

Simon Tam, also from Firefly.

Raven from Teen Titans, doing combat training or something.

Now, random elfy!

I dunno.

Rochester!

More random.

My grandpa.

Yet more random.

My DeviantART profile picture. (Should add Whovian to that list now.)

Very old digital coloring of my character Rosephayne Stone. Like, extremely old.

Mahogany Gabb from the steamverse mess.

Rivenwick and Andros, also from the steamverse mess, doing their usual sexy violent thing.

Kavra Faileas from Irlica. Blighted. Poor guy.

There he is again, before the Blight struck.

Fairly recent drawing of Kyren! Tried to redesign her armor. Didn't work.

Aaand a rough mockup of Ileana's clothes. Her boots are different now though.

*topples over* Woof. There.

Watched 300 last night with some of the other Great Con kids. I was expecting it to be halfway decent, but no, that was a lie. It was fun to make fun of it though. I also played a game of online Diplomacy with some kids from my dorm, and I was Russia, and I lost Moscow because one of my friends accidentally attacked my support-holding army in Warsaw. So mad. It's one of those games where everybody hates each other afterwards. And after all that, I was up until the wee hours of the morning watching Matt play Civilization 5 against Leif and John. Not sure why I thought that was a good idea. Now I legitimately need to do a bunch of homework. Later, dudes.

So little homework lately...

This is dangerous. I can just feel the senioritis coming on. I suspect I might have a particularly strong case of it because I've technically been in school a year longer than everybody else (even though I've done less math.) But whatever, since there's so little homework at the moment, and I've got all my scholarships and so on, I'm just chillin' out and trying to get over this Italian head ick and playing some Tomb Raider and blogging more than usual. No complaints here. I mean, I could be studying for AP tests or doing physics or something, but seriously, if no one makes me do those things, am I actually going to do them? No. That would be ridiculous.

Portals, yay! Have some gooey Anabeth and Thaelen for breakfast. I think I'm finally getting better at drawing hair! *partytime* Anabeth's hand is tiny. Whoops. Oh well.

As soon as I got back from Italy, I realized that Erimon Hill already has a lot of Italian things in it. More on that later.

You guys, this post is lame. I'm sorry.

Ooh, but I have another Fail post I could do over on Epic Fail! If I remember. Maybe.

Getting excited for the OYAN workshop. Brenticus and I are definately doing some coordinating costumes. Like Firefly, and possibly Dr. Horrible. 'S gonna be awesome.

Off to Italy... TOFRIGGENMORROW

I might be freaking out just a little. This post may, therefore, end up being a little haphazard/disjointed. Sorreh.

Yes, we're on a plane first thing in the morning, so here's a quick peeksy at some old Portals-themed whatnot. I found these in my old sketchbook. Excuse crappy scans.

Thaelen and Anabeth dancing in a faery hall (to this tune: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzhzraXuoyw) Thaelen looks unlike himself, but I nailed Anabeth's face for a change, bazinga! And this is a scene I've attempted before, with even less satisfactory results; when Thaelen leaps down out of the tree and tackles Anabeth to the ground to save her from being shot. You can maybe tell I gave up on Thaelen's clothes. I'll get it right someday, I swear!

Kay, back to packing. Ugh, the weight limit is 42 pounds for the checked baggage. Srsly, 42 pounds? You're joshing me. How am I supposed to get my weapons overseas with a stupid weight limit like that? *puffs out exasperated sigh*

While I am in Italy I shall take a bazillion pictures and also purchase a carnival mask in Venice. So there. I don't care how expensive it is, I am buying one of the ones with a ridiculous huge beaky nose. Don't even try to stop me.

Shoutout to Lady Arin, my dearest, who is turning eighteen this weekend!!! *MASSIVE DANCEPARTY* Milady, I am working on your present, I promise. Hey, now you can buy cigarettes and look at porn and stay out past curfew! Isn't eighteen an awesome year?

See y'all after spring break!

Oh, and homework struggled to get itself done yesterday because I discovered The Guild on Youtube and it is SO FUNNEH. SO INNAPROPRO. BUT SO VERY FUNNEH. It's about these six gamers, three dudes and three chicks, none of whom have lives, who meet each other in person after like two years of gaming online together. Frighteningly enough, it reminds me of my brother so much. *terrified*

tiding over

I actually started the Halloween post, and it's getting super huge, and my blog is neglected, so you get a stack of random arts while you wait. Which means that the Halloween post will show up UNDERNEATH this one, kay? So scroll down more every once in a while until it shows up. It's gonna be frickin massive.

Still pumped for Daughter of Smoke and Bone. I own a copy now, but can't read it cuz finals are soon. Most likely, it'll end up as a Christmas present. But anyway, I'm pumped. Watched Serenity with Brenticus the other night. Cried. (I always cry during that movie.) Took a whack at drawing Zoe, but I don't think I made her lips big enough. For serious, her lips are really big.

Um, maybe this is Rochester? At a strange angle. Whatever.

There's an artist I've been following online for several years by the name of Adele Sessler. I think there's a link to her site in my sidebar - Meadowhaven, it's called. She has a character called the Mistress of Illusion or somethin' like that. Fun to draw. I think these are sorta inaccurate. But whatever. Due diligence, right?

Akima! Sorry, the colors are sort of wrong. I just used whatever pens were in my school bag, and that means no green. Sorry. Also, the pose is horrible, but I drew it in pen, so oh well. By the way, I love this girl because she gets shot in the shoulder and there's blood and everything. Titan A.E. is awesome like that.

Raven. A very tiny Raven. See how big those Spanish words are?

Here I was trying to get some ideas for my River Tam costume for Halloween. And even though there were like twenty choices, the world conspired against me and I couldn't work it out in time. Snarl. Anyway, here were a few of the options. See why I love this chick?

Xandria Castillo from the ghost kids thing. She has dark hair, I promise. Actually, this kind of looks nothing like her. Whoops. Partly cuz I gave up on the shading, but I'm pretty sure I got distracted by the vamp team and forgot about the ghost kids entirely. Not that I don't love them, of course.

Quick attempt at an older Ellian. In a tweed suit. Or something. Although, I don't think twentysomething-year-old women actually wear tweed suits, but that's kind of not the point. Portals is changing itself around in my head like, daily. For serious, every time I look at it, I see something new and awesome. Yay me. Oh, and I drew some sketches of Cairbre the other day, whose name is now going to be Kavra, because that's apparently the phonetical pronunciation of Cairbre, thank you Amzi very much. Who would've thunk? Gaelic is haaaard. Point being, I haven't scanned those Kavra sketches yet, but I will. Don't worry.

More randomer types of stuffs shall now ensue. There's really no good explanation for any of this crap.

Except this one, to which I shall only say, I have a thing for fairies with dreads and/or elaborate hairdos. The end.

If you survived all that, you get one of my famous theoretical cookies. Here. *gives*

Now, some sleeping would be nice.

Oh, Green Lantern was pretty great, by the way. Not the plot so much, but the Ryan Reynolds part, um yes. I heart Ryan Reynolds. And there were some pretty sexy explosions also.
