The Thrill

Not to jump way ahead in the chronology of this Shadowrun campaign, but it's Alex's birthday today so I made him some Flember. God that background was waaaaay the hell out of my comfort zone but I just went for it and I feel like it turned out okay!

Spoiler, Ember and Flechette get together and its hella cute and everyone's super invested.

I'll be sure to catch this blog up on Shadowrun and also our other DnD campaign once finals are over (my last set of undergrad finals, woo!) but until then this Flember will have to suffice.

Pose reference was from here, and here is the song that inspired the piece.

Shadowrun: the runners

I'm not sure how I managed to neglect this blog for so long, but however that happened, I've built up a huge backlog of stuff, so let's jump right in here.

Alex's first character Occam was a dwarf razorguy and former corp surgeon. More machine than dwarf, he he had a consuming addiction for new body mods and cyberware. I say 'had' because he bit it after like two sessions.

Also he had a motherfuckin samurai sword because Shadowrun is ridiculous and sometimes you gotta just take advantage of it.

Erika plays Flow, a human physical adept who always wears a full-body chameleon suit and opaque helmet, speaking to the team through either a speech-text-speech voice modulator or text messages via comlink. None of us have ever seen her face. Before she started working for Annie, she was a parkour/free-running dispenser of vigilante justice.

Evan was one of the last to make a character, and he agreed to make a Face since we didn't have one yet, so here's Rex the human Face. He used to work a fairly substantial corporate job before some shit went down in Germany and he had to go underground for awhile. He's used to living larger than most Shadowrunners have the budget for, drives a Bentley, and can talk his way in or out of anything.

Allana's character is Dagna, a human rigger who was born into an Aztechnology blood magic dynasty and ran away to get a rigging implant to get rid of her magic. She's better with machines and animals than people (and all of her drones look like animals), but she also wants to be Ember's vodka aunt.

Rix, Jake's dwarven shamanic mage, is fairly young but grumpy and cantankerous enough that everyone thought he was an old man at first. His mentor spirit is the Thunderbird, which forces him to make a roll to avoid insulting someone who insults him first.

Connor plays our other shamanic mage, Wispy, a young elf who used to run with a go-gang until he accidentally burned up most of the gang's vehicles and half of his face. Very charismatic and outgoing, his mentor spirit, by complete coincidence, is also the Thunderbird.

Despite their many similarities, Wispy and Rix have major disagreements about how spirits should be dealt with and treated. Annie's solution so far is to try not to send them on runs together.

I did this painting of Wispy on his motorcycle with a friendly water elemental for Connor for Christmas.

Alex's elf technomancer, Flechette, was born and raised in a secret Horizon lab, trained as a sniper and a devastatingly good hacker. She only just recently escaped and struck up an online friendship with Ember before Annie hired her to replace Occam (who died, more on that later).

Her Matrix persona is just herself, but with hedgehog spines instead of hair.

I have SO much more Shadowrun to post, oh my god, you have no idea. However, my final art project is due at the beginning of next week so that's what's heaping up on my plate right now.

leaving for China tomorrow night!

And while I'm there, I will have basically no contact with the good old USA, and not much in the way of Internet. So have some stuff before I go.

Babby farmer girl Shep, growing up in the fields of Mindoir.

And, for Anna, a very quick and messy Scully kissing Mulder's head. (I will watch this show someday, I swear.)

One of these days I really am going to finish my Italy blog, and I'll probably add pictures from China to the end of it as well.

ALSO NIGHT VALE HOLY CRAP IT'S KILLING ME.

a ridiculous amount of drawings

Decided to finally post the enormous backlog I've been procrastinating on. It's hard to remember what I've posted here or not, because sometimes I post stuff on DeviantART and not here, and vice versa, and then I get confused. So apologies in advance if there are repeats mixed in. Here's the pile in no particular order.

New sketch of Juniper from Black Ribbons. The Darklings are called Shadowkind now.

From the Odyssey. Telemachus comforting his mother.

Four from Divergent by Veronica Roth.

Murtagh from the Inheritance cycle. Gah, he was hot in the last book.

King Orrin and Nasuada from the same series, also last book. Spoilers for Nasuada's scars...

Thalia Grace from the first Heroes of Olympus book with her winter camo.

The Them from Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett.

Lara Croft from the Tomb Raider franchise.

Nico di Angelo from the Heroes of Olympus series as well. Hawter and hawter with age.

Karou from Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor.

Jem Carstairs from the Infernal Devices trilogy by Cassandra Claire.

Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase in their twenties, being adorable.

Vin from the Mistborn trilogy by Brandon Sanderson, infiltrating Kredik Shaw with a fistful of bloody coins. Because she's a ninja like that.

Jace Wayland from the Mortal Instruments series, being sexy.

Commissioned drawing of Ewin from Pippin's novel (flipped image.)

River Tam from the episode "Safe" of Joss Whedon's Firefly.

Simon Tam, also from Firefly.

Raven from Teen Titans, doing combat training or something.

Now, random elfy!

I dunno.

Rochester!

More random.

My grandpa.

Yet more random.

My DeviantART profile picture. (Should add Whovian to that list now.)

Very old digital coloring of my character Rosephayne Stone. Like, extremely old.

Mahogany Gabb from the steamverse mess.

Rivenwick and Andros, also from the steamverse mess, doing their usual sexy violent thing.

Kavra Faileas from Irlica. Blighted. Poor guy.

There he is again, before the Blight struck.

Fairly recent drawing of Kyren! Tried to redesign her armor. Didn't work.

Aaand a rough mockup of Ileana's clothes. Her boots are different now though.

*topples over* Woof. There.

Watched 300 last night with some of the other Great Con kids. I was expecting it to be halfway decent, but no, that was a lie. It was fun to make fun of it though. I also played a game of online Diplomacy with some kids from my dorm, and I was Russia, and I lost Moscow because one of my friends accidentally attacked my support-holding army in Warsaw. So mad. It's one of those games where everybody hates each other afterwards. And after all that, I was up until the wee hours of the morning watching Matt play Civilization 5 against Leif and John. Not sure why I thought that was a good idea. Now I legitimately need to do a bunch of homework. Later, dudes.
