happy vday have some trash

More Jack and Miranda, surprise! Wow, some of these have been lying around unfinished since before Italy. I was up until like 2am on a school night earlier this week, finishing them so I could post them all at once. Life choices. Yeah.

Yes, those are most of the lyrics of the Amanda Palmer song "I Want You But I Don't Need You" because it's painfully accurate for Jack and Miranda and I couldn't resist.

And there they are flying Haven, the ship they're currently living in together. Because they're so grossly adorable it's ridiculous.

Real life was nice yesterday. Matt and I went and got Japanese food and saw the school production of Cymbeline because real dates woo! And then we played Star Wars DnD and broke Matt's useless Trandoshan Noble out of the Separatist base and Leth and Hippolyta kissed during a firefight and it was magnificent. All in all, not half bad for a Valentine's Day.

sheps sheps and more sheps

It was Cloor's birthday last week, so I drew her engineer Shep!

And Anna's Shep! Even though it wasn't her birthday! (Because Wren Shepard is really hot.) And coloring with ArtRage is a truly fantastic experience.

And my own Rain Shepard, because I can't not. Apparently.

Suit liner? Suit liner.

Oh jeez, I am out of practice at drawing Garrus. Yeesh.

I also made a half-assed attempt at Major Alenko. Because his hair is ridiculous.

And a random unmasked quarian. Because.

I have many drawings of Jack and Miranda to upload still. I apologize in advance. (No I don't. I'm not sorry. I will never be sorry.)

in which KP knows how to draw one thing and one thing only

And that thing is Suvoi Emana. Surprise.

Modeled using the facial features of Claudia Black.

Elijah, "Doctor" Enoch, Suvoi, and Erik, in their mining jumpsuits.

Honestly that whole storyline was an excuse for me to draw Suvoi in a tank top, not gonna lie.

Well, there might have been character development too. Hard to avoid when you lock your characters in an underground medical facility while subterranean horrors rage through the rest of the complex causing death, terror and power outages. What else is there to do but find out some things about each other?

I mean, who knew Erik could sing? Or be comforting, for that matter?

Will ye go, lassie, go
And we'll all go together
To pluck wild mountain thyme
From among the bloomin' heather

Giddy and I have had some truly spectacular roleplaying sessions with these two. We refer to this one, in which they try to murder each other in a Ratways alley in the rain, as the "Demons incident" after the very apt Imagine Dragons song. (Now, to be fair, he was hired to kill her because she'd become an important leader of the rebellion, and she was just defending herself, but it also ended with both of them losing large amounts of blood and also admitting that they were in love with each other.)

And now, allow me to walk you through the arduous process of using a tablet without a proper painting program, using Suvoi as an example.

Lines done in ArtRage. Nice brush. Pen sensitivity - A+.

Exported and flat-colored in Paint.Net because I didn't know how to do layers in ArtRage.

More layers in Paint.Net. No brushes available. Look at those gross round edges. And how blend?

Cropped, flattened and imported back to ArtRage. Brushes, great, blending knife, awesome, but no layers.

So that took the better part of an afternoon. What I wouldn't give for, say, Photoshop right about now.

more of the same

Blah blah I love my tablet blah blah here have some more Femshep blah blah can't draw guns. You know the drill.

Also, I said I would sort out Leth's coat, and I think I'm headed in the right direction. Less symmetrical and more functional.

And in real-life news, I finished my Judo course and achieved the rank of yellow belt and didn't die, so that's cool. And Matt's back from Budapest so that's even cooler.

more of the lesbian ex-Jedi

Lovely piano trio concert the other night. I am way too old to be doodling on my program, but that has yet to stop me, so have more Leth.

I've been working on the design of that coat, going for something a little less symmetrical. Should have it nailed down soon.

This week's session was largely bad puns, well-timed Star Wars quotes, and Anna's and my characters trying rather unsuccessfully to find out each other's backstories. Also Leth teaching Hippolyta how to meditate. Unf...?

Leth Gull

In celebration of the shiny new tablet my dad got me for my birthday, I doodled up some preliminary designs for my sexy Zabrak Jedi character for this semester's Star Wars DnD campaign.

Leth Gull was a Jedi deployed as a commander in the Clone Wars, but after her entire unit of clone troopers got wiped out, the self-preservation instincts characteristic of her species kicked in and she decided to go it alone rather than return to the Temple for re-deployment. She's tall and muscular and not above whipping out a blaster pistol, or her fists, to compliment her lightsaber in hairy situations. The plan is to have her fall for Anna's human scoundrel character and have lots of Jedi angst about attachment not being a thing but also help she's hot. Should be quite a party.

ridiculous Jackanda trash

Someone take my pen away from me. I have too much power. I think I literally draw them every day.

This is one of those things where I never thought I would ship it, and now I'm convinced that I will ship it until the day I die.

i think about this a lot

But seriously, when Jack was growing out her ponytail between ME2 and ME3, what did she do with her hair? I tried out a variety of styles  (admittedly drawing heavy inspiration from Ruby Rose's magnificent androgynous haircuts like this, and this, and this.)

I think I dig this one the most.

And then I couldn't resist drawing a few moments from the *cough* embarrassingly large amount of *hem hem* Jackanda slash that I may or may not have written with Matt *harrumph*. Because they're complex interesting characters dangit don't judge me.

In our "playthrough" of the suicide mission, Miranda volunteered to do the biotic barrier, collapsed, and had to be carried to safely by Jack, who was panicking and trying to maintain the barrier and it was just all around a terrible time.

And now, yet more Femsheps. Both of them at once, actually. Sometimes Rain Shepard thinks about her former self, before Cerberus rebuilt her, and wonders whether that other self would have been a better candidate for saving the galaxy. If she would have been more compassionate. Saved more lives.

And finally, my Shep rockin' the ladypits. Because she has better things to do than shave. Like, I dunno, save the galaxy.

I think I made her too fun to draw. That's the issue here.

Italy's great and all, but I can't wait to get home and play the end of ME3 at long last!

in which Kip draws her Shep a lot and also her Warden

Keeps me awake during my cinema class, at least.

And this is not done yet (dunno why I do this to myself).

And this here is my belligerent lady dwarf Warden from Dragon Age Origins.

She has a sweet face but look at her or her sister wrong and she will destroy you.

Also Alistair makes her look hilariously short.

I'm also currently in the middle of making a massive post about Venice over on my travel blog, so keep an eye out for that.

just in case anyone needs more Erik and Suvoi in their lives

I suspect Giddy and I are the only ones who do, but eh, you know, whatever. They're just too fun to draw.

Babby Suvoi! Probably eight or nine years old here. Pre-everything in her life becoming horrible.

Whenever I get bored, my hand just automatically starts drawing Suvoi's hair. It just keeps happening. I don't know why.

Mines. I hope we actually write that part ever.

The 'fancy frock' referenced in the original Crimson Hand Job thread.

Oops my hand slipped.

Looking bedraggled and confused and wrapped in a towel for unknown reasons.

Erik! I've been trying to get a more consistent look for him (modeled largely off of Michael Fassbender, as per Gideon's request).

And more mines things - Erik sulking and Suvoi hauling him to the med ward after the blood poisoning gets really bad.

Also this happens from time to time.

There's a lot more where these came from so brace yourselves stay tuned.
