What Kipin Used to Draw Like (Holly)

Good Day, everybody... hmm, why do I always say 'everybody' when only one or two people are allowed to read my blog??? Ah, such are the questions that plague me.
Yes, Kipin used to draw like that... gaah, spare me! *covers eyes* This is Kipin's oold ooold rendition of Captain Holly Short, from the Artemis Fowl series. Gaah, the face! Can you believe Kipin used to draw faces like that?! *goes into storytelling mode* Once upon a time, before Kipin learned her anatomy, she had a sudden all-consuming urge to draw that most noble of elf policewomen, Captain Holly Short. So she got out a pencil and jotted down a head. Unfortunately... *dramatic pause* ... Kipin couldn't tell whether the head she had drawn was the head of a figure or a head of spring lettuce... so she erased it and tried again. And again. And again. And eventually, she ended up with something remotely head-like in shape.
This interesting proccess continued for the rest of the body, especially the left hand, which never really came out to Kipin's satisfaction. And several years later, when the Artemis Fowl graphic novel made its debut, Kipin compared the Holly illustrations in the book to her own profile drawing, and was ashamed. Very ashamed. For she had royally botched Holly's adorable pixie haircut!!! O, the horrah!!! *dies*
All right, kids, that's your story for today. Stop by again to be captivated by the wonder and awesomeness of Mother Goose's Human Sidekick!
The pic was done in regular old 2b pencil. The wooden kind. Waow, Kipin hasn't drawn with one of those in years...
Commander Kip the Much Improved
Normal is overrated!
