Victory

'Ello thah, mates! I drew this after reading my friend Amzi's novel: Yes, she wrote and FINISHED a novel in a novel-writing class she took last year. I is so very proud of her! It won an award too. Awesome pirate novel. You all know how Kipin feels about pirates. XD

Anyway, this is her main character Averill (no stealy, people) who has to pretend to be blind because her eyes are blue, and where she lives, people think that all blue-eyed people are witches. So she goes around with a mask on all the time. I drew a scene where she has it off, obviously, lol, because I loved how this scene was written, and I cannot draw masks. She's standing on a rock, which turned into a cliff in the picture because rocks refuse to be drawn by me. I got sick of the background and decided not to finish it. I was tired of looking at it, and I had other things I wanted to draw, like my priddy liddel Heartwood pic. So it's not done, and probably never will be. In case it's not clear in the picture (no surprise there), there's a ravine behind the cliff she's standing on, then another cliff covered in trees. Yeah, those blurry things in the back that totally got poned by the scanner, those are the trees. Then, on the left edge of the page, there's a footpath that goes down to Averill's hut, then the village, then the docks and finally the sea, way down there at the back. There's the pirate ship moored at the dock with its sails all rolled up. There's a word for that, where the sails are all rolled up... but Kipin doesn't remember it just now. Do YOU?

I spent way too much time trying to wrinkle her clothes. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Kipin's Faramir

Quickly, quickly, I still have some chemistry to study and it's kinda the middle of the night and... yeah. Lookie here. *snort* It's supposed to be Faramir. 'Supposed to' being the operative words here. Doesn't look much like him... but it's closer than the guy who played him in the movies! Gaack, that guy drove me to distraction. His hair was the wrong length and color, and he was so darn mean to Frodo, I just wanted to SMITE him! He was so much cooler in the book.

So, about the actual picture... heh... I obviously cannot draw water. Lookit the fountain - it fails at life. Mom says the background it too busy, and I totally agree with her... but I had to put a background, because Faramir wasn't in the middle of the page and looked off-center. So I added that pillar off to the right. Then the pillar looked dumb and boring, so a vine grew on it. Then the pattern of the stones. Then the other pillar right behind him and the outline of Minas Tirith (that's what those tower things are, by the way.) Then a fountain sprouted out of the courtyard, and started spewing fake-looking water, and a few clumps of grass popped up, then some more pillars grew at the other end of the courtyard, and a path behind those. In other words, the background got away from me. I couldn't leave it alone. I finally looked at it and went, 'Holy mole, where the heck did all of THAT come from?' and hastily declared it done. Ahem. So there it is, in all its cluttered glory. I found a picture of movie Faramir online and was able to ignore his face long enough to use his clothes as a reference (but not the Tree of Gondor! I did that part from memory! Phear my madskillz.) I was gonna give him a bow and quiver over his shoulder, but it was way too busy already, plus I was so proud of my Tree of Gondor that I didn't want to hide it under a quiver strap. Modest, aren't I? *snorts with laughter*

One more thing - I got that secret school art project done, and it turned out unbelievably awesome. I can't wait to show you guys! All I gotta do is get a picture, then you can see it. *squees to self* I love how it came out! I'm giving it to my dad to put in his office, 'cause it's his birthday and nobody else in my family gave him presents. Of course, that will never do. So he can have my awesome project. I haven't drawn him anything for his office in forever anyway...

Whoa, crap, lookit the time! I have a test tomorrow morning! Blast! *dashes off to bed*

Artemis Fowl sketchies

Hello - waow, this came out so light, I can barely see it. *smites scanner* Ah well, no matter. ARTEMIS FOWL!!! I just finished re-re-reading The Time Paradox, and just had to do fanart.

N01 turned out way cuter than I expected. Jest lookit the li'l bugger! Top left (the nearly invisible one): a rather blatant copy of Holly's profile picture in the Artemis Fowl graphic novel. I sketched it out with a mechanical pencil, looking at the drawing in the book. I wonder if someone's gonna nail me with a copyright lawsuit or something? Hope not. I think I'm okay. Different media and all that. But just in case, that image is copyright the guy who drew the graphic novel... lemme go look him up... *leaves*

*comes back* Giovanni Rigano. He drew the lineart and Paolo Lamanna colored it. Italian names are such fun. Anyway, none of the characters, or even those runes at the top, belong to me in any way, shape or form.

So. Captain Holly Short in the top left corner, Opal Koboi, the evil little pixie lady, in the other top corner (she looks mighty peeved... perhaps someone just stole her truffles. Mulch, perhaps.) I had inordinate amounts of fun with her hair. It's far too shiny to be credible. Ah well. N01 the demon warlock in the middle. He is ridiculously cute. I always imagined him to be a cute little monster, and he is. By the by, that pose fails in real life. I tried it, and got the nastiest cramp in my calf for the trouble. *annoyed snort* But he's a fantasy critter, so I suppose I can put him in whatever pose I want. His anatomy will adapt. Besides, I had so much fun covering him in runes that I promptly forgot about the cramp in my leg. Moving on: Foaly the paranoid centaur in the bottom left corner. He came out awesome. I am so proud of myself - he looks just like he looks in my head! That is a rare occurrance... something in my head coming out neatly and accurately on the paper. Cheers! I like his ears, and his horsey teeth, and his belly. *sporfle* I love the part at the beginning of the Time Paradox where Holly is teasing him about his belly. Will I get in trouble if I quote it?

"Did you see that human movie with the centaurs?" she asked the centaur on the other end of her helmet communicator. "They were noble and sporty. 'My sword for thee, Majesty, then off for a spot of hunting.' Fit centaurs, now that did make me laugh."
Thousands of miles away, somewhere in the earth's mantle below Ireland, Foaly, the Lower Elements Police's technical advisor, rubbed his paunch.
"Holly, that hurts. Caballine likes my belly."

At which point the book goes on to explain who Caballine is, then Holly apologizes and says she likes his belly too. And Kipin dies laughing. I think I shall do so now. *dies laughing* Again, just in case, I didn't write any of that. Artemis Fowl: The Time Paradox is copyright to Eoin Colfer, one of the awesomest, most hilarity-inducing dudes out there.

This post is starting to feel long. Last doodle, lower right corner: the Gnommish text just above it says "PROBE", which refers to the scene from The Time Paradox the doodle is depicting. Holly is magically testing Artemis to make sure he doesn't have the killer magic disease. He doesn't, but it's awfully funny to watch him squirm. He's all like, 'um, Holly, what the crap are you doing with my face?' Not in those exact words, of course, but you get the idea. Oh, and I used the graphic novel again for reference with Holly's LEP suit. So the suit design, once again, is not mine.

I own nothing in the picture (except my signature, which is one hundred and fifty percent mine), so don't eat me!

DONE with Cairi's grad gift. Now, I just gotta get it out of my sketchbook without tearing it, hopefully, and find it a nice frame. Wish me luck. I'm not that great at frame-shopping... we went to like three different department stores for the frame around Lady Arin's Kartik picture, so... yeah. Hopefully this time, it'll go faster. I wish I had a scavenger imp. XD

Mask, fully repaired and back from the kiln

Finally DONE! I actually finished this ages ago, and just now remembered to post it.

Mask done, at long flippin' last:

Doncha just love all the clutter and mess around it? Very proffesional, no? By now I've got it back from the kiln, and it's a lighter color of brownish-tan. My art teacher decided not to have it glazed, because the Clay Guild just got a new glazing kiln that's not quite calibrated yet, and some of the other student's glazed projects came back funky. So I'm just gonna paint it green myself, and slap some air-drying topcoat on it, and call it done. At LAST. Sheesh.
Omg, I just had an awesome idea for a fanart! Listen to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fv2kmFZTDeY My latest Loreena McKennit obsession. What does it remind you of?

Greek sword plus other stuff

Check this out. -> My li'l bro made this at his friend's dad's warehouse the other day. It's a Greek short sword, see? I was fairly impressed with the little bugger... and especially since he wants to paint it now. He nevah does art projects willingly... so I was like, 'Yeah, go for it!' First we gotta get our hands on some metallic bronze paint. That would be awesome. He wants black for the handle and bronze for the blade. *is proud, ruffles his hair*

Also: some things that I'm working on... Cairi's grad gift, which is coming along great and is gonna be so cool... some Artemis Fowl-related fanart doodles, inspired by my recent re-reading of the Time Paradox (ARTXHOLLY FO' EVAH!!!), flippin' awesome school project that I can't wait to show you guys, and a piano arrangement for the Secret Garden song, "Prayer". Most beautiful sound EVAH. Go listen to it immediately. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ih3aAx-S5xg Yess. I'm trying to arrange THAT for piano. 'Trying' being the operative word here. XD It's actually not going too badly... I can sing the solo voice part, after all, and the piano can pick up the other voices. I looove this piece... *hugs it*
Other stuff: some art pieces in the planning... Pendragon scribbles, mostly Kasha, since I finally got the Books of the Travelers thingies and the first one has a believable picture of her on the cover... fanart for Hannaliese, another school friend, who is in wub wid Germany and all her kickbutt characters are German and amazing and have handguns (I love those guys... especially Arlene and Aryann)... um, er, what else? Ah yes, the long-procrastinated Guardians Versus Warriors pic. I'm a tetch scared o' that un, porque sera muy dificil dibujar. I did a short study a while ago on cats and owls, but it was sich a short study tha' I doubt et ded any guid a'tall. Anyway, it's in the lineup for... eventually. Also, I really need to draw my four lovelies from Savvy. I tried a while back, but it was such an epic fail that I gave up. Timo looks quite demented. I shall have another go at some later date.
Gotta go memorize my lines for the epic skit we're doing for Spanish 2. It has to do with airplanes, and Ipods, and sandwiches con carne, y un vegetariana (yo) who gets to freak out over the meat-based menu. And hand sanitizer. *cackles gleefully* Sera muy divertido indeed.

Andra

Take a look at this ancient relic! It's Princess Andra from the Tales of Castle O'Konnor story. Ooooold. Well, not THAT old, actually... it's from last year, during art class, when we were supposed to be drawing portraits of a live model, and then class got over and the model left, and I had only done the braid. XD So I turned it into Andra, 'cause it sorta looked like her. Mind you, this was done before I knew how to draw. Lol.

Writing excerpt that I am rather proud of:
“Eran!” I screamed. “What are you doing? Tell them to stop!”
“Can’t do it,” he shouted back over the roar of battle-hungry warriors. “Stay out of this, Andra. I would hate to see you get hurt.”
“You don’t seem to care if they get hurt,” I fired back, motioning to Father’s soldiers.
His voice dropped in volume, and I had to strain my ears to make out his words.
“They are not you, my love.”
I tugged myself free of Eran’s bodyguards and stormed over to him. “If you really loved me, you wouldn’t be attacking my father’s men! My friends are down there! Please, Eran.” My voice sounded whiny and desperate, even to me, but I had to at least try to save the squires. “Call off your men. Eran, I’m begging you…please.”
I saw the conflict on his face for an instant before it became a stony mask. He sounded cold and dispassionate as he replied, “No.”

Hehe. This bit happens near the end of the book, when Eran turns out to be a traitor who was smuggling in mercenary soldiers in order to take over the kingdom. Pretending to be Andra's suitor proved an excellent cover for him... but he sure blew that when his men started attacking the O'Konnor soldiers. Bwahahaaaaaaaaaa. Eran does NOT turn good in the end. He dies. So there.

So Eran and Andra and Eran's burly bodyguards are all on the top of the wall, watching the battle down below. Andra's friends the squires are down there in the fray, and of course she's worried to pieces about them, and she just found out that Eran doesn't really love her, and she's kinda going to pieces. But hey, can you blame her? Eran is eeeevil. *swats him* Eeevil eeeeevil boy. He's in league with Fable and Claptrap. Until Nath kills him, anyway.

PH34R T3H H3M0G0BL1N!

Hemogoblin time!

Finally got these on my computer. XD Here's the lineart: And here's the colored version, which I scanned. Lookit the difference! Now I wish I had waited to color it until I got a scan of the lineart too.
So. This is Amzi's request drawing: her Hemogoblin, from the Hopshire story. I had naught to do in study hall one day, and I was like, "Amzi, what should I draw?" and she was like, "Draw me something - ooh, draw me my Hemogoblin!" and I was like, "Okay!"
So most of the lineart was done in study hall... but I finished it when I got home and decided that it should be colored. He's red, because he's the Hemogoblin (you know, hemoglobin, Hemogoblin, get it? Lol.) Yess. I had too much fun making him ugly. I actually like his hand! Gawsp! And his ears, those were fun. And - see? - he has Sauron eyes. *titter* Oh, and I heart his weapon. It's not very savage or goblin-ish, I admit it, but it came out so cool all the same, and I'm still learning how to do blades, so piff.
Mechanical pencil and Prismacolors and a kneaded eraser and a SCANNER YAY!
Character AND art belong to Amzi the Mandolin Warrior, even though I drew it. I gived it to her, so it's hers now. I have a copy in my folder though. *grin* Printers don't like red...

Heartwood

INNENT SHE PURDY?!?!?! And lookit the nice white-ness of scannerism! *flips out big time* I love that thing. The skiving software that came with it, howevah, shall be the death of me. It wants my blood.

ANYway: This is my Lord of the Rings OC (don't eat me, Amzi!), Liriel Heartwood. Her name has an accent mark over the first 'i', but of COURSE the computer won't have that. X( She's blind, in case you were wondering what the heck is wrong with her eyes. They're supposed to look like that.

I am ridiculously proud of this for several reasons: One, I shaded it (!!!), two, there's a border, three, her left hand came out awesome, four, there is a design on her kirtle, and five, I wub the tree. Oh yeah, and her hair looks like hair. Shock, I know.

The light source I did was... dumb. The light is supposed to be slanting in from the top left, but then there was the tree throwing all sorts of funky shadows on her entire right side. Meh. *smacks self mentally* Oh well. Next time, I shall remember to stay away from questionable light sources.

Drew this while I should have been starting Cairi's graduation pic. Yes, the entirely fictional one, the one I just thought of, but should have nearly finished by now. School's almost over and I've not even started yet. *sweat drop* Yeah. Gotta get to work. Hint: Cairi's a Faramir fan. *evil cackle, wrings hands*

THAELEN'S HAIR!!!

Happy Easter to those of you who celebrate it, lol.

The scan on this kinda failed... so washed out you can barely see it... so look at both of these, I suppose.
THAELEN'S HAIR!!! *squees and makes grabby hands* It actually sorta looks like hair, too. *is impressed with self* I don't like his mouth though, or his eye. Argh, eyes! And is it just me, or is his ear too small? I loved this while I was working on it, but now that I back up and really look at it as a whole, I see all my mistakes. *grouses* Ah well. It sorta looks like Thaelen! *hugs the poor boy*
I think the reason it scanned so badly was that I drew the entire thing in metallic silver Prismacolor pencil. Scanners and colored pencils do not get along well. I like the effect though... made it look kinda soft and transparent on paper. On paper, that is. Paper. Not the computer screen. Snarl. On the screen, it just looks... gray.

Kip the faery

I am so proud of myself, for several reasons.

First off, this is a scan! Crooked, but a scan nonetheless. Amazing, I know.

Second, I just am really happy with the drawing in general. Look how nice and white the background is! I didn't draw the border all skewed like that, it happened when I scanned it... must have gone in lopsided. Ah well.

I shaded this! Even the sword! I really love the sword. I could do some serious smiting with it. Mi madre says I look a tad grumpy, but I told her it's because I'm about to smite someone. That thing sprouting out of the top of my head is my other wing, not some kind of messed-up horn like my brother thought. And I is so very proud of the border. Yess.

Hmm. I just noticed that the boobs are too high up... oops. *shrug* Bother. I want that dress though.

Autumn Leaves

Did I spell 'autumn' correctly??? Why doesn't Blogger have a spellcheck - wait - IT DOES! Cool! I never noticed that before...

I checked it, and yes, that spelling was right.

Random watercolor fun in art class: It's Kartik! Lol, just kidding. It's some random tree I painted with watercolors during art a week ago. I never use watercolors because of how messy they are and they take so long to dry, plus it' impossible to erase, which never works for me 'cause I always mess up at least once. Usually more than once. Anyway, this is going into the art coffin now, just thought you might wanna see it before I hide it under my bed with the rest of my ancient art, lol.

I drew the CUTEST PICTURE in my notebook. It's a self portrait of sorts, and I shaded it and there's even a BORDER around it, which, frankly, astonishes me. I ought to put borders around things more often. It looks twice as professional, even though it's not. Muaah. You can see it... as soon as I get around to making another scanner run. XD *squees giddily at menti0n of scanner*

Commander Kip the - oh yes, one more thing: I'm writing this scene near the very end of Portals, where Anabeth died and came back to life the first time, and Thaelen doesn't know she's alive, and he goes off to kill himself, and Anabeth almost drowns trying to save him. Very epic and romantic scene. I am having way too much fun torturing those two. Only because I love them, you understand.

I'm baaaaack, with something a bit more interesting than chemistry homework.

This is one of my many alter egos, Laughingstar of StormClan. I botched the coloring job a bit, all those blonde spots should be lighter, but ah well. A doodle I did on the back of a choir handout in church, then colored when I got home. You can't tell in the pic, but her eyes are a very pretty blue color.

Hey, guess what? Kipin's daddy finally fixed the scanner! FINALLY! *dies* It wasn't a data card problem after all, it was just a matter of installing the proper online software. Duh. I wonder why no one thought of that months ago??? *fumes* Ah well. I scanned my friend Amzi's free commission with it, and it's on the computer now, yay! But the scanner kinda sucked out all the red, so the poor Hemogoblin's skin looks kinda orange now. Oh, I'll just post it so I don't have to explain it to you all. *dashes away*

Draith Darkling

Late night posting time...

Guess who this is. *points* His name is Draith Darkling. I have no idea what deep, dark recess of my brain he was concieved in, but anyway, I was doodling in the margins of my Ideal Gases chemistry test (nothing new there) and this cute little guy popped out. He's a floater, no story, no background... the only thing I know about him is that his mother was an elf and his father was a darkling, a mythical sentinent type creature I invented to explain Draith's horns, wings and tail. Oughtta draw a pic of a real darkling sometime. They walk upright like men, but they're covered in smooth scales and are built more like dragons. Fun stuff indeed.

I drew Draith in my small costume design notebook, because I didn't have my other one handy at the time, and he was banging around in my head, screaming for a picture. So I made do. He ends at the mid-calves, which is fine, since I can't draw feet. Something's wrong with both his hands, by the way, even though I made DarkChild hold her left hand out for like ten minutes in study hall so I could look at it and stick it to Draith. Let's just say it's better than it was. I also think his loincloth-thing is slightly botched, but that's just Kipin not knowing how to hang/fold fabric. So meh. I am in DESPERATE need of a private lesson. Must learn hands, hair, feet, and clothes. Dearie me, that's most of the human body...

Kartik for Lady Arin

Happy slightly late birthday, Lady Arin!

This is Kartik, from Libba Bray's book, A Great and Terrible Beauty. Lady Arin is somewhat obsessed with him, so here he is in all his hawtness - at least, as much of it as Kipin could convey, anyway.

The graphite pencil lineart: Black colored pencil lineart:
Prismacolored (added doorknob):

In the frame. Fitting, no?

This was such a fun project. I think I've finally stumbled across a method of drawing torsos that doesn't make the guy look like an overdeveloped monstrosity. *hugs poor botched Thaelen* Yes, I'll have to go back and redo that at some point. Poor guy.
I suppose I could have used a darker color for the backround. It looks a bit too... stripey, somehow. And the doorknob still bugs me, rawr... should have sketched it in earlier. It looks like it's floating. *gnashes teeth* And his hair! I swear, I erased it and redrew it like ten times. I need to learn hair. I know I keep saying that, but seriously. Mom's actually considering getting me a private lesson. It's that bad.
One last thing. The reason I say the frame is fitting is because Kartik spends most of the three books in the trilogy skulking about in the woods behind the all-girl's academy, watching Gemma. Pfft. What a stalker. But he's a HAWT stalker, so no one's complaining, right? Anyway, that's why the leafy frame jumped out at me in the store.

Whisperwood wolves

...And that was so much fun, let's have another.

These guys are some newly invented additions to Portals... the Whisperwood wolf pack, or as much of it as Kipin could fit on the page, anyway. Top left: Byrony, top right: Esker, bottom left: Fiachra, bottom right: Lucien. Technically, Lucien would be the Alpha dominant male person, but in this case, his mate Fiachra leads the pack, because Kipin says so. In Zraeland, female wolves have a higher status than the males. Lol, so there.

Kipin barely planned out this drawing, which is why none of them are shown to scale, and O'Darrell is missing, because he wouldn't fit. Had all sorts of trouble with Byrony's pose, but I think I got it worked out in the end. Esker gave me fits as well - her forepaws were refusing to reach the ground. Eventually, I figured out that she was tipped too far back, and tried to erase her head, which stubbornly refused to disappear. *smites cruddy sketchbook paper* I miss my old sketchbook... Anyway, that's why it looks like there's a half-invisible ghost wolf sitting behing Esker, which was unplanned and unwanted, so please ignore it. Also, since I'm doing my little artist-criticizing-her-own-artwork thing here, I shall say that Lucien looks like a bulldog. Mi madre is in full agreement with me on this point.

Believe it or not, we actually do not have any books on wolves. *snarls* So I had flip through a bunch of different nature/animal kindom reference guides to find suitable pictures. There were hardly any, hence the problems I had with Esker... that was a case where I just needed a reference, and couldn't find one to save my life. Gaah! I ended up looking at some of the posters in my room that have wolves in them for inspiration, because prior to this project, I had no idea how to draw wolves. Now I have at least a general idea of how they're put together. Another big inspirational help was Hanyousblood's DevART gallery, which you should all go look at, and drool over her amazingness. I think I gave a link for it in my list of recommended links... *dashes off to check*

Graphite mechanical pencil and kneaded eraser, because I knew I had one somewhere, and I was right.

The parts I like: Byrony's tail, Fiachra's expression, Lucien's paws, and Esker's pose. Thank you, thank you, no applause, just throw money!

Can you just imagine what will happen when Ellian and her new friends run into these guys in the woods? For Ellian... major freak out time, I presume. But Kaelo can talk to animals, the lucky rotter, and the wolves can talk as well, so no worries.

Happy early birthday present, Lady Arin, because I know you like wolves.

the Raven collection

Hey everybody, you won't believe this...

KIPIN FINALLY FINISHED CHAPTER 4 OF PORTALS!!! *dies in relief* That took forevah!

Anyhoo, just thought I'd get that out there.

This is Raven, from Teen Titans.

I am most especially fond of the big colored headshot in the bottom left corner. That was a screenshot from one of the early episodes... the one with the Puppet King... doormat, what was it called? Don't remember, but that's beside the point. I was watching the episode on YouTube and saw that awesome shot, so I paused it and sketched it down. Later, I colored it. The pencil sketch in the top left corner came about the same way. That screenshot was from the episode Spellbound, where she falls in love with an evil dragon who's pretending to be a wizard, lol, lol, that was a cool one. She's about to throw something at Cyborg, a stankball maybe, and I loved the expression on her face. I don't think I captured it quite right... you'd have to see it, gaah, that cracked me up. The one in the top right corner was done first, and I drew it looking at the Volume 1 dvd cover. She actually looks better far away than she does up close there, because of how many times I had to erase her eyes. The paper got all scarred. It looks fine from here though.

In case you can't read the text (it's fairly tiny there), it says, 'I speak English, German, Latin, Romanian, Ancient Sumerian and Sanskrit. Do you have anything I can read?' *dies laughing* Gaah. Best Raven quote evah. From the extended feature thing, Trouble in Tokyo, the ending of which irked me to pieces. *grumblesnarlhiss* I am a RobRae shipper. The ending was decidedly RobStar. 'Nuff said.

Or maybe not. Kipin likes to rant. So - SHE'S TOO HAPPY FOR HIM! IT WOULD NEVER WORK! BESIDES, SHE'S AN ALIEN! Not that we don't all love Starfire, and she does kick serious butt. Howevah! She's simply too bubbly and carefree for Robin. He's from Gotham, raised by Batman. He's seen plenty of things that no teenager should have to see, whereas Starfire is about as naive as it gets. She thinks mustard is a beverage to be drunken through a straw. Besides, Robin and Raven had some valid, convincing moments in the End of the World story arc, and they ah so flippin' cute togethah.

Graphite mechanical pencil, then Prismacolor pencils. Nothing new here. And the disclaimer: Teen Titans is a registered trademark of somebody-or-other, who isn't me. So yeah. Don't own nuthin'. Unfortunately. If I did, the show would still be running and thousands of heartbroken fans would be... un-heartbroken.

"For the hundredth time..."

Hay there, dudes... Kipin's already posted today (like five minutes ago, in fact) but she couldn't wait to show you guys this drawing. So you get a double dose of CreativityIncarnate today.
I know, I know, the poses are epic fail. (The girl is Terra and the dude is Beast Boy, from Teen Titans. This is a scene from my fanfic, Prisoner of Love.) Kipin messed up the composition badly. Terra looks like she's about to tip over backward, because of the strange angle of her right leg, and the whole pose looks off. Not sure why. Perhaps Kipin tried to add too much detail? No big surprise there...

The best part of this pic is that Kipin finally brought herself to draw a BACKGROUND! *freaks out* Amazing, isn't it? Obviously, a five-year-old could have done just as well, but I'm happy all the same. Usually, Kipin's too lazy to do backgrounds.

The exerpt that goes with this piece is... still in my notebook. I'm only up to Chapter Five when it comes to the typing for this particular fanfic, and the part I chose to draw happens in Chapter Six or Seven, can't remember which just now. Basically, Terra was by herself in the Tower with Raven, and Slade ambushed them and kidnapped Raven. Terra was knocked senseless in the ambush and woke up like an hour later to find Raven gone. So she was totally freaking out, and saying that it was all her fault that Raven was missing, and here Beast Boy is trying to convince her otherwise. "For the hundredth time, Terra... it's not your fault!" She doesn't believe him of course. But anyway, I was gonna wait to post this drawing until I got the matching exerpt on the computer, but I got impatient, which seems to happen often.

Sisters

Hi people! Kipin's on a huge drawing kick right now. See here:
The first picture ever of Saabra ferch Diarbed, also (and more often than Kyren) known as Princess Llaelora. Funny thing - when I was drawing this at Taekwondo, I had no idea what clothes to put her in, because of that dress-hating crouch she's doing, lol. So she's not wearing the Llaelora gown, even though that was what I was planning to put her in. I didn't know what she should wear, so I drew a little chibi version of her in the corner of the page and put clothes on it. It turned out so cute, I couldn't bring myself to erase it. So it's still there. I know it looks weird to have two of the same person in the same picture, but I just couldn't erase her! And her hair was royally botched (Kipin REALLY needs to learn hair) but I am fairly happy with the foreshortening of her arm, and her right wrist and hand. One of the few times I've drawn a hand and liked it.
This one's Kyren, obviously. With a rather large FI-YAAHball. *giggles uncontrollably* That is way too much fun to say. FI-YAAH!!! Sorry. Anyway, this picture looked cooler in my head than it did on paper, but I have only my lack of skill to blame for that. I tried a different style of eye for this one, but they came out looking funky, like she was blind or something. Not using that eye design again. I doubt I'll get up the nerve to color either of these, though I've considered it multiple times... but no, I'm too lazy. Also, Kyren's fireball-holding hand is messed up. It looks too... blobby. XD

WEAPONS!

Hee, look.
WEAPONS!
Sorry, just had to yell that. Everybody remember the third PotC movie? When Sao Feng is all like, "WEAPONS!" and the pirates all pull swords out of the bathtubs? That was so funneh.
Anyhow, here's the happy post I promised, barely five minutes after the other one. These sharp pointy objects are a collection of weapons from Portals. Weapons make Kipin happy, okay? The big one (which has been compared with Cloud's sword from Final Fantasy on several occasions) belongs to Science, not that Science can lift it, lol. He's far too skinny. I had waaay too much fun doing all the technologically baffling designs on the blade, but they took forever to clean up. Next is my personal favorite, Saabra's bladed boomerang. It's the double-sided curvy one in the middle of the page. I invented it myself. *preens proudly* And I think it's my favorite weapon in the entire book. So far. In the left bottom corner is the Floramancer's leaf-blade, which is Thea's. I royally botched the edges, in case you can't tell, but i like how the handle came out. Then there's one of Kaelo's many throwing daggers. This particular one has a long handle, which comes in handy for non-lethal attacks. You know, in Chapter Two, when he throws a dagger and knocks Rykker out without killing him... that would have been this dagger. In the right corner is some sort of flail thing. I was gonna give it to Thaelen, but Mom said a flail was too messy for him. She said he needed a cleaner weapon. So the flail is just there to look cool until I decide who gets it (Queen Diarbed, perhaps? She's ruthless enough for it, lol.) And last but not least, guess what Thaelen ended up with? Twin long knives! Yay, they fit him perfectly! I wanna do a pic soon of him holding them and looking all scary and cool. This time, I'll put him in his cloak so I don't have to do his muscles, or his hair. Gaah, I MUST learn hair. Soon. Or I will die of artistic Thaelen-induced hair deprivation. I'm getting tired now. Must be, because that last bit made no sense... So anyway, the swirls on the handles were my friend DarkChild's idea. She said they needed some kind of cool design on them because they were too boring. I completely agreed with her, and lo and behold - vast improvement. Thank you once again, DarkChild, for inspiring me.
Must go sleep before any other sillinesses spew out of my melted brain...

my dog attempting to eat my homework...

... literally. GAAAAAAAAAAH!!! STUPID LITTLE FLUFFHEAD!!! *strangles, but stops when she realizes how cute he is* Rawr... aw, he's making the sad puppy face at me and wagging his tail just the tiniest bit... that's his 'I'm sorry' routine... d'awwww...

Lookit this mangled mess.

Gaah, look at all those horrid gouges! *hides face in horrah* Just look at it! I swear, I didn't see him do it, but it looks like the face and my dog got in a fight and the dog won. I came upstairs and there were bits of my school art project strewn all over the landing, and the plastic wrapping it was in was all shredded up. AND THERE WERE A BUNCH OF NASTY GOUGES IN MY MASK! *fumes for a minute* *takes deep breath* Hhh - whoo. Hhh - whoo. That makes me SO mad. Anyway, I had to spend an entire evening repairing it, and it was due the next day. I was supposed to have it DONE, and it wasn't any further along than it was when I took it home, because, as I explained to my wonderful understanding art teacher, my dog LITERALLY ate my homework. Or tried to dig in it, anyway. *growls at Marco* Bad dog. Bad! Bad! *swats*
Now that I've got this particular ordeal out of my system, I shall go and post something more cheerful. You'll see some more pics of this project after I get it all done and the leaves all stuck on.

Sketchdump

Good Day, everybody, and guess what?

Kipin remembered how much fun blogging is!!! *capers about madly* So prepare yourselves for a mess of sketches.
This one's a couch I saw in Starbucks. I was really, really bored...
And this is our weighted keyboard that makes all the pretty harp-like noises, without the stand it sits on, because I was too lazy to draw that part.
My hand (at a time when I had fingernails.)

My fist, drawn on the same day as the hand.
Some different claws, lol. In the top corner of the Epic Brain Fart, I drew a very nice owl claw, which inspired me to draw more. So there's a couple owl claws in there, and some Drog claws, and Wyrm's hand (Wyvern's is the one on the other side of the body) and my own hand, with extra-long nails, bwahahaa.

Groundcover from our back yard. (Is back yard supposed to be one word?)

A tulip, also from the backyard. (Yes, I think it is one word.)

There you go for now, but since I'm on such a roll, I might post again later today. If I have time. Sorry this post is so booooring, but these sketches are never gonna get posted unless I just dump them on you guys all at once, lol.

Epic Brain Fart

Dash it all, why can't the pictures show up in the correct order?! *bites computer*

Hi, everybody. *sheepish grin* Excuse me whilst I smite this uncooperative machine. Anyway, I profusely apologize! Kipin has not so much as touched her blog since the end of February, which is, of course, unacceptable. There were piles of homework to contend with, and a stupid mutant cold/flu thing, and all sorts of rot... but Kipin's back now, with a vengeance, bwahahaaa.
So, this is the second-to-LAST page in my sketchbook *dies* which means Kipin has to start a new one! Augh, the horrah! But the method behind the madness here is that I wanted to draw something meaningful and cool and complicated on the last page, so in order to purge my mind of silliness first, I filled the second-to-last page with any- and everything that came to mind over a two-day period. Hence, the Epic Brain Fart, which started out in black and white (see below, blast this format!) and just screamed to be colored, which Kipin did, without any ado.

Yes, this was actually a lot of fun. I had just recently watched the LotR trilogy, so there are several related objects in there (Eye of Sauron, elven brooch, Evenstar pendant, the One Ring, etc.) Other scribbles of note: the Sordid Sea'orse, in the top right corner (Captain Calamity's ship), Lackadaisy, the grinning kitty in overalls there (who I did not come up with, by the way... saw another drawing like him on DevART and loved him to pieces), several drawings of Hattie, in assorted colors, a rather large hand, Saabra's mind-blowingly awesome weapon (middle of the left edge, right next to the Evenstar pendant), a rather nice set of claws on the right edge, and a large-scale representation of my new signature near the bottom. Whew. *pants, tongue hanging out of mouth* So yeah. Feast your eyes on the epic randomosity of it all!
